Rules & Roles for the 2025 Youth Investors Challenge
This page outlines the essential rules and roles to ensure a fair and smooth competition experience. Stay tuned, as these guidelines will be regularly updated right up until the contest begins to keep everything clear and current.
-
All trades must be recorded on the Investopedia platform with notes.
More will come soon as the start date approaches.
-
Student teams must be comprised of members from the same secondary school and be current secondary school students.
Secondary students refer to those between the ages of 11 and 18, and are currently attending a school that awards a diploma program of any kind.
Participants must not have earned a high school/secondary school diploma before the competition begins on July 4th 2025.
-
Each team must submit the required final report during the competition in order to be considered an “active” team eligible for attending the final presentation.
-
All students on teams that submit and meet the minimum requirements for the competition deliverables will receive participation certificates in September 2025.
-
Cash Course and GlobalMinds embrace generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology and see it as an important tool for students. Generative AI describes algorithms, such as ChatGPT and other large language models, that can be used to create new content, including text, code, and images.
When students express themselves in the Youth Investors Challenge, they must use their own voice and words. Plagiarism uses somebody else’s work without crediting the source, including generative AI. Guided by faculty, instructional teams, and staff policies, AI-generated work should be cited like any other reference material, including how and where students used AI-generated information.
-
We expect teams to communicate any issues or complaints in a courteous manner and to act with decency in all interactions—in person, via email, and on social media. Any unpleasant, threatening, or offensive behavior will not be accepted by the Youth Investors Challenge, which reserves the right to penalize or disqualify teams for it.
Every team that submits photos and other media as part of a deliverable or presentation that it (or a team member) does not own or did not generate entirely must appropriately credit any sources used and recognize ownership of all such materials.Submissions that are offensive, encourage violence, breach intellectual property rights, or are otherwise judged unfit for public viewing (for the purposes of this competition) will not be accepted. Each team (and/or the students on such a team) maintains ownership of their own work regardless of whether they are chosen as Finalists.

The following are the responsibilities of student team members:
Considering the prospective client when creating your team's investment plan. Although students are the competitors, your adviser acts as a guide for your team.Undertaking in-depth research on securities, industries, and sectors.
Gaining knowledge of new ideas independently or through the competition learning resources, available in our online programs.
Using Investopedia to place trades. Members of the team must cooperate and use a single shared account to place trades. Collaboration and communication are essential for competitive success.
Maintaining focus and fulfilling deadlines for deliveries. During the seven weeks of trading and strategy development, registered student teams are expected to remain engaged throughout the tournament, comprehend the regulations, and work regularly.
Make good use of your time.
